I’ve been following the Myanmar case for some time; glad that you raised this up!
By reading the latest article from Le Monde Diplomatique, I can’t feel but think that the army generals, with their close flag carriers, live in a bubble that is not aligned with not only human values but with the facts of modern-day reality.
The regime clearly cannot keep their house of cards together.
The Myanmar citizens’ ways of getting valid information are so widespread, and the regime’s apparent inability to ensure and block this moves the status quo in a direction in which the regime doesn’t have control any more. They have their ego and rigid ways of thinking, but it is not enough to rule anymore.
However, despite the violence and gloomy outlooks, I would be glad to see a non-violent roadmap to resolve this.
I think killing a bunch of folks never pays off.
Interestingly, by taking a recent and massive deep dive into search engines, growth hacking and digital marketing (namely content marketing), I see now a solution that would be to use search engine optimization and content within a skilful strategy. I argue that this would turn the tide towards a peaceful and non-violent path, or at minimum, increase the probability of it. 🤔
Please, don’t think of this as an advertisement. Though I know something of the above fields there are numerous more skilled folks than I am. Just Google around.
Let's face the facts; the regime’s behaviour is sub-human, they cannot hide their shortcomings from the general public, Myanmar Internet cannot be blocked or censored, citizens see the alternatives and there are loud voices for the new future.
If the voices and information of it are very strong, the regime will rule out the violent tactic, because the non-violent resolution is better also from their perspective.
So, just a heads up, for all those working for World peace.
I clearly see that, if there is a will and funding, this operative strategy (SEO+content) can be developed, standardized, and utilized in the non-violent toolbox of conflict resolution.
Maybe even add it to the Business Plan for Peace.
